Reflection, Renewal and Recommitment
A Pastoral Prayer- Rev. Lori Staubitz

There is so much that is deserving of our attention

Let us pause now in thoughtful rest

to turn our hearts and minds

toward all that we love and cherish.

May we be filled with gratitude for all that enriches and nourishes

our bodies, minds, spirits and relations

 so we may come

to share in our abundance and give thanks.

Opening our awareness to those in pain and need

let each of us do what we can to relieve the suffering of others.

May we dare to reach out to one another in solace and comfort.

Let us come into harmony and understanding

with all that alienates and separates us from others.

Knowing resentment and anger will not give rise

to the unity we hope to create.

may we find strength and courage to forgive.

In these trying times, we are too well acquainted with sorrow and grief.

Let joy overwhelm our despair

May it be for us a wellspring of renewal

as we welcome opportunities to celebrate

the gift of each day.

For in this moment we begin anew,

to increase our wisdom and trust;

to discover the endless ways in which we may give rise to beauty and love

in our lives and in the world.

to the end that each one shall know wholeness

and all life will be one.

May it be so.

It Is No Small Thing
Departing Words by Rev. Lori Staubitz

 It is no small thing

that we have come here together in this way,

to learn, love, yearn and strive.

May hope and passion remain

alive in our hearts and minds as we depart from one another.

Let love reside in us and live through us

this day and each day.

May we know peace, joy and abundance.

and may we increase these things in the lives of all others.

Until we meet again-amen.
